Aqualyx
What is AQUALYX?
It is a simple and safe treatment for localised adiposity tissue (fat dissolving injections).
Why regular exercise and a healthy diet does not always work?
You pay close attention to a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and eating a well-balanced diet, yet that one pad of fat that troubles you the most will not disappear?
The cause for this lies within our genetics and the special structure of our fat cells in certain areas. These particular group of fat cells are difficult to diminish and AQUALYX is the perfect solution.
How does AQUALYX work?
AQUALYX contains desoxycholan-acid, a secondary bile acid and endogenous substance. The liquid substance of AQUALYX creates a fat dissolving effect by the process of cavitational adipocytolysis.
Which areas of the body can be treated with AQUALYX?
Areas covered include a double chin, jowls, abdomen, love handles, hips, thighs, buttocks, knees and arms.
It has also proven to be effective in treating pseudo-gynecomastia, buffalo humps and lipomas.
How many treatments are required?
The number of treatments required vary according to the desired degree of amendment, the dimensions of the fat deposit and the individual reactions of the fat tissue. You could require up to 5 sessions depending on the size and site of the fat deposit. A 3-4 week interval is required between each appointment. Treatment with AQUALYX is not a solution for absolute weight loss. Results are permanent permitting the client does not gain weight. A healthy diet as well as a regular exercise regime is an absolute necessity to ensure success of the treatment. AQUAYLX is not a substitute for exercise.
How is the treatment conducted?
Using a thin, flexible cannula, AQUALYX is injected directly into the subcutaneous fat tissue. The treatment is virtually pain free, as the fat tissue is almost free of sensation. Additional local anaesthetic is mixed with the AQUALYX prior to injecting. The average pain score is 2/10.
You may experience some redness/bruising after the procedure.
It is expected after the procedure to experience a burning sensation for a number of days, as this is the process of adipocytolysis (fat cells dissolving), which in essence means that the treatment is working.
What should I pay attention to after a treatment with AQUALYX?
No cosmetics, alcohol, use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, Ice or direct contact with sources of heat (e.g. sauna, sun beds). Furthermore, avoid strenuous exercise for the immediate few days after.
Maintain a strict and healthy diet, drinking plenty of fluids.
When is AQUALYX not recommended?
1) It is not recommended when the patient is suffering from acute or chronic skin disease in the affected area.
2) Previous history of allergies to AQUALYX
3) Extensive medical history
3) Women that are pregnant or breast feeding
